Telecel Zimbabwe has announced that its retail expansion programme is on course after rolling out 500 kiosks.

Telecel introduces Telecash bundles

Telecel Zimbabwe has introduced Telecash bundles that allow subscribers to send money, cash out and pay bills at no charge once they have paid a once-off monthly fee of either $2.50 or $5.

The newly introduced Telecash bundles will allow subscribers to send money, cash out and pay bills at no charge for 25 days after having paid a flat bundle rate of either $2.50 or $5 depending on their individual preferences.

A lucky Telecel subscriber was presented with the keys to a brand new house after winning one of the three houses in Telecel’s Win A House promotion which is offering three new houses as grand prizes as part of its ongoing SMS and recharge based promotion.

19 year-old teenager Ms Fadzai Jeche who lives in Mkoba, Gweru, is the first subscriber to win one of the three houses in the promotion which also has airtime and weekly cash prizes as consolation rewards for subscribers.

Under the training partnership, supported by TELECEL ZIMBABWE, with US$25 000, ICTs, business and financial experts will train journalists around the country on reporting on the subjects.

Telecel Zimbabwe has been notified by the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) of the cancellation of its licence to provide national cellular telecommunications services.

This measure is unfair and unwarranted. Telecel has made every effort to comply with all legal and governmental requirements in Zimbabwe, and objects to this treatment in the strongest terms.

Telecel and its global shareholders are taking immediate action both locally and internationally to challenge this decision.

Telecel would like to assure its customers and stakeholders that it will take all possible steps to maintain the full range of its services throughout this process.

Telecel promotion re-introduces bonus calls to all other local networks

Telecel Zimbabwe has re-introduced 100% off-net bonus on their Mega Bonus promotion which allows pre-paid subscribers to make calls for double the value of the airtime they purchase, regardless of who they are calling, as long as the call is a local call.

The Mega Bonus Promotion gives Telecel customers 100% bonus for all airtime denominations. The validity period for the bonus airtime varies depending on the recharge value but goes up to ten days.

Telecel launches PIN-less recharging platform

Telecel Zimbabwe has announced the launch of a PIN-less electronic airtime recharge platform dubbed e-Juice which enables subscribers to recharge their mobiles phones without using airtime scratch cards or recharge vouchers.

E-Juice allows subscribers to get airtime directly loaded onto their mobile phones without having to purchase physical scratch cards or vouchers which come with recharge PIN numbers. This new recharge platform has the advantage of making recharging faster and more convenient for subscribers.
